Tūhura Otago Museum is a COVID Clean Approved organisation. This World Travel & Tourism Council certification is awarded to businesses who demonstrate an awareness of, and adherence to, COVID-19 government guidelines.
Nothing is more important to us than the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and our wider communities. Throughout the pandemic we have actively monitored the situation, following government requirements and Ministry of Health’s recommendations. We also engage expert advice to help us determine best practice for our particular facilities and situations.
We are committed to managing risks to ensure the Museum remains a safe and welcoming space for everyone.
To this end we ask staff and visitors with cold or flu symptoms to remain at home and to test for COVID-19. We also provide soap, hand sanitiser, and other cleaning products at various locations around the Museum, and ensure our high touch areas are cleaned frequently.
Our Events and Outreach teams actively consider and take steps to mitigate the risk of transmission of COVID both onsite and in the community.
While the wearing of face masks is no longer a requirement at the Museum, staff and visitors are welcome to wear masks if they choose to do so. We have masks available for the public if they would like one.
We ask any visitor with concerns about the safety of our site or offerings to let a staff member know, or to contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
