Sword, Scabbard, F91.6

Physical Description

Short sword - wakizashi. Hilt consists of bone carved with various Japanese figures . Kashira and fuchi of brass bearing the three hollyhock leaves in a circle of the Tokugawa clan. Brass ring midway along hilt to cover join of two sections of bone also with hollyhock design. Plain brass tsuba. Scabbard similar to hilt - bone panels with carved figures bound with three brass bands with hollyhock design. Two larger bands have rings attached with red suspension cord. Sword probably made for tourist trade.
