Bowl, F81.289

Large stoneware bowl with a turned foot and high rounded walls. Has a thick compressed rim. Flat on inside and very pronounced throwing marks. There is a strip of design on the outside top wall. Potters stamp on base. A matt mottled pale green/grey glaze on the outside, with a few flecks of iron. Outside glaze is green/grey with a wax resist design, two lines running vertically, connected by horizontal lines spaced regularly. Circles are in between the horizontal lines. The covering glaze is a brown/red. The rim is a dense area of matt brown.
