Polearm, Scabbard, F47.11

Physical Description

Japanese style spear (Yari). Blade is triangular in cross-section, with a fuller on the widest side. Socketed onto long wooden shaft. Copper fittings. Black lacquer near head. Metal buttcap with blunt point on end of shaft. Scabbard of lacquered or painted wood. Roughly diamond shaped in cross section, narrows at waist and flares back out to a circular cross-section.
