Physical Description

Unglazed porcelain cup and saucer. Cup has vertical sides with a relief frieze running around it. Handle protrudes past rim of cup. Saucer has high sides, slightly flaring out. A relief frieze runs around the interior of the rim.
The cup is decorated with figures, animals and plants. From the right of the handle, the decoration is composed of a dog, trees, a woman sitting holding parchment, a lyre on a pedastal, trees, a woman sitting under a tree, holding a vase, trees, a male sitting on a well with an ?altar in front of him, and a sheep lying down.

The saucer is decorated with a female sitting on a stool with one hand on her knoee. In front of her, an ?altar. Beyond this, a bowl of fruit, a femal sitting in front of armour on a stand. Trees, then two geese touching beaks, trees, a woman on a chair holding a piece of parchment with a lyre on a stand in front of her, a tree and a ram lying down. Finally a youth sitting, feeding an eagle from a bowl.

Both are marked on the base with a double sword in blue. Cup incised "49" and "16", saucer marked "332"
