Physical Description
Short vase which is globular in shape with a short straight neck and low foot-rim. Round the lip is a repeating pattern of gold 'jelly bean' shapes. Around the body is a repeated bat motif and flowers. The figures are stylised and are painted in gold. The ground colour of the body is purple/blue with a metallic finish.
On the base are the initials "JM" along with a small circular white sticker which reads "Leeds Fireclay Co Mellor" indicating it was part of the Mellor collection. There are also several stamped makers marks but are hard to distinguish.
