Bellarmine, E62.2

Large Cologne ware Bellarmine Jug. Flat base, which is light brown in colour. Light brown colour extends to the bottom third of the jug, the top two thirds is dark grey. Handle on rear extends from just below rim, to shoulder and has been attached after construction of jug, and sealed with a single finger press. Front of jug has the number 4 visible, and above that a man with a beard, who rests on the neck/shoulder of the jug. Top of rim has many indentations, as if to attach a lid of some description.
