Gourd, D25.2193

Gourd in woven kete basket. Neck removed from gourd and large circular hole with sides smoothed. Base bulbous and broken (fragments inside). Kete of unscraped flax plaited in open over one, under one twill. Worn and broken in several places. Commenced with 3 ply braid along base, finished with a plait. 3 ply braided unscraped flax cord attached to upper edge and plaited fibre cord inserted, ends tied. Five fragment gourd pieces and metal ring in plastic bag accompany this.
