Physical Description

Japanese style spear (yari). Blade is three pointed - cross piece curves upwards at ends. Tang penetrates into long wooden shaft. Tang inscribed with Japanese characters. Copper fittings. Multicoloured lacquer near head (?shell). Red lacquered plaited cord. Metal buttcap. Scabbard of lacquered or painted wood covered in leather. Follows shape of blade.
