Physical Description
Shamshir'. Fine curved Damascus (?) blade, waved edges, fuller parcel-engraved, bifurcated 10cm from tip to blade. Thin tapered languet. Iron cross-guard tapered to acorn-shaped knobs. Hilt and pommel white horn or ivory, riveted, curled at pommel, hole in centre, ringed in brass. Longitudinal brass straps around hilt. Black carved leather scabbard, plain steel chape, two engraved bronze mounts. c.f. Egerton pg. 132; pg. 140, pl. XV, No. 658.
