Ghana, West Africa (stated as collected near "Accra").
Model of traditional Ashanti stool. Stools of this general style were (and to some extent still are) symbols of authority, symbol of one's standing within the culture. The specific design of each stool has specific meaning - tells a story, reflects a myth.
