Mat, D2012.6

Oval shaped. Made of lengths of ?grass bound together so as to be almost completely covered worked in concentric ovals so as to form the mat. Centre section bound over several narrower bands to give effect of large panel in middle. Cross binding of double band width over outer area gives a series of radiating lines. One band half way between central panel and outside, and a section of the central panel are in a dark red-brown, the rest in pale yellow-brown (dried grass) colour.
