Physical Description
Wooden bird rest with bowl at either end. Central wooden bar, carved in pierced curvilinear design with two straight holes drilled horizontally right through (top to bottom, possibly drilled for museum display purposes). Oval bowl at one end carved externally with singular head with body. Extruding tongue and no formed eyes (koruru form) with body on either side. Two drill holes partially pierce bowl but not entirely. Bowl at other end is oval, shallower and scooplike with opening at extreme end (forms mouth of figure) Projection at this end above bowl carved externally in form of human face with no formed eyes. Five topknots on top of forehead. Carved in one piece.
